Specialist-led care, every step

Pregnancy is one of the most important journeys of your life, and it deserves specialist attention from the very beginning. As a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist based at Crestcare Hospital in Malmesbury, Dr Amon Siveregi provides complete antenatal care for women across the Swartland — so you don't need to travel to Cape Town or Paarl for expert pregnancy management.

Every pregnancy is monitored personally: your scans, blood results and delivery plan are managed by the same specialist throughout, whether your pregnancy is routine or high-risk.

What your antenatal care includes

  • First booking visit (±10 weeks): full history, blood tests (blood group, iron levels, immunity screening), BMI assessment, gestational dating and counselling
  • Ultrasound scans: early pregnancy scan, first-trimester screening with nuchal translucency (11–14 weeks), and the detailed anatomy scan (±20 weeks)
  • Chromosomal screening: first-trimester combined screening and non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) options, explained clearly so you can choose what's right for your family
  • Gestational diabetes screening at 24 weeks, and anaemia screening with growth scans in the third trimester
  • High-risk pregnancy management: hypertension, diabetes, multiple pregnancy, previous pregnancy complications and growth concerns, with Doppler assessment where indicated
  • Delivery planning: natural birth, induction of labour or caesarean section — planned with you, at Crestcare Hospital
  • Postnatal follow-up: recovery checks, contraception planning and 6–8 week review

Frequently asked questions

When should I book my first pregnancy appointment?

Ideally around 8 to 10 weeks. If you have a positive pregnancy test, phone the practice on 022 634 0294 — earlier assessment may be arranged if you have pain, bleeding, or a history of pregnancy complications.

Do I need a referral to see Dr Siveregi?

No referral is required to book an antenatal appointment. Some medical aids do, however, pay specialist benefits differently with a GP referral — check with your scheme.

Does Dr Siveregi manage high-risk pregnancies?

Yes. Hypertension, gestational diabetes, multiple pregnancies, previous caesareans and growth concerns are managed at Crestcare Hospital, with referral to feto-maternal specialists when very specialised care is needed.

Where will I deliver my baby?

Deliveries take place at Crestcare Hospital in Malmesbury — a modern private facility — whether you have a natural birth, an induction, or a caesarean section.
